Electromagnetic wave transparency of X mode in strongly magnetized plasma

چکیده

An Electromagnetic (EM) pulse falling on a plasma medium from vacuum can either reflect or propagate inside the depending whether it is overdense underdense. In magnetised plasma, however, there are usually several pass and stop bands for EM wave orientation of magnetic field with respect to propagation direction. The while propagating in excite electrostatic disturbances [1, 2]. this work Particle - Cell simulations have been carried out illustrate complete transparency strongly plasma. external chosen be perpendicular both direction electric wave, which X mode configuration. Despite presence charged electron ion species behaves like vacuum. observation understood help particle drifts. It shown that though two move under influence fields their motion does not lead any charge current source alter dispersion relation medium. Furthermore, also band regime shrinks zero width as resonance cut-off points approach each other. Thus radiation such case appears norm. This may important implications astrophysical scenarios. For instance, surrounding objects pulsars magnetars often threaded strong fields.

Dust acoustic wave in a strongly magnetized pair-dust plasma

The existence of the dust acoustic wave (DAW) in a strongly magnetized electron-positron (pair)dust plasma is demonstrated. In the DAW, the restoring force comes from the pressure of inertialess electrons and positrons, and the dust mass provides the inertia. The waves could be of interest in astrophysical settings such as the supernovae and pulsars, as well as in cluster explosions by intense ...

One-way helical electromagnetic wave propagation supported by magnetized plasma

In this paper we reveal the presence of photonic one-way helical surface states in a simple natural system- magnetized plasma. The application of an external magnetic field to a bulk plasma body not only breaks time-reversal-symmetry but also leads to separation of Equi-Frequency Contour surfaces (EFCs) to form topologically nontrivial gaps in k space. Interestingly, these EFCs support topologi...

Diffusion in a strongly coupled magnetized plasma.

A first-principles study of diffusion in a strongly coupled one-component plasma in a magnetic field B is presented. As in a weakly coupled plasma, the diffusion coefficient perpendicular to the field exhibits a Bohm-like 1/B behavior in the strong-field limit but its overall scaling is substantially different. The diffusion coefficient parallel to the field is strongly affected by the field as...
